Bi State Sportsman's Association as a gun club follows and enforces rules of the governing bodies in the respective disciplines that Bi State offers. Bi State reverses the right to dismiss any shooter the rights to shoot if he or she is found to be in violation of the safety equipment rules.
Handle gun. Remove the gun from the protective travel case.
Check ammunition.

- ALWAYS KEEP YOUR BARREL POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION ex. up, down, down range
- Check to insure the gun is unloaded.
- Make certain there are no barrel obstructions. ex. dirt, wads, shells, any obstruction
- ALWAYS KEEP THE ACTION OPEN AND IN PLAIN SIGHT TO OTHER SHOOTERS
- Hinge action shotguns must be broken open at the breach. (Hinge action's may be closed when put in a gun rack, but must be opened immediately when taken off the gun rack
- Pump guns must have the slide in the open position. (at all times, except while shooting on a range)
- Semi automatic shotguns must have the bolt in the lock open position (at all times, except while shooting on a range)
- ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER TILL YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT
Check ammunition.
- Use the proper ammo in your gun. If in question both gun barrel and shells are labeled with gauge size
- Never mix ammunition ex. 12ga, 20ga, 28ga, and 410 ammo.
- Hunting loads are not permitted on the ranges.(Hunting loads are to heavy of a load, and shot size is usually too large)
- Never load the gun until you are on the shooting station.
- Load the correct number of shells for Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays (Never more than 2)
- If there is a firearm malfunction or ammunition malfunction, keep the gun pointed down range at all times.
- See the sections bellow with explanations of the most common firearm and ammunition malfunctions.
- Never move off, the shooting station with a loaded gun.
- When it is your turn to shoot, move into position and fire. (Pay attention who's tun it is delays frustrate other shooters)
- Load the shotgun with the correct number of shells. If uncertain, ask. (Never more than 2)
- When ready say PULL loudly but, not so loud that it is disruptive.
- When your turn is done, make sure the empty shell ejects and wait quietly during other shooters turns.
- When waiting do not talk too loudly to activate the voice releases or bother other shooters (if available)
- Talking quietly behind the shooter is permissible if it does not effect the voice activated release.
- If uncertain of proper rules or etiquette, ask for help.
- Spectators must remain off the range if close it the range, Bi State suggested spectators should also where personal protective equipment when Shot hits the targets there is a possibility for a ricochet. I will not be hard enough to hurt you but if it hits your eye it may cause injury
